Big News from Sowers!

Greetings from Sowers!
I am absolutely thrilled to be writing to you with a major announcement! As you know we have many spiritual children around the world, and children are a gift from God. Our love of children has been a major part of the ministry of Sowers. When people ask me if I have any grandchildren my standard answer is “Yes, around a million of them, and they’re mostly girls, and they’re in orphanages in China!” But now everything changes. The Lewis family is sooooo happy to announce the long awaited coming of our first grandchild! Our daughter and her husband, Mike & Rebecca Marston of Boise ID, are eagerly awaiting their first child the week before thanksgiving!

The announcement came as a package in the mail addressed to Pooka & I with the instructions: Open Together. The package was a framed copy of their sonogram, pictured here.

Seeing it, Pooka began screeching, crying & jumping up and down, I of course was much more dignified, but screeching, crying & jumping up and down too! What a day of rejoicing!

Please pray with us as this precious little person continues to grow. As pictured here it was the size of a blueberry, then a raspberry, then a grape. As of the end of April this wonderful little child has attained the stature of a cumquat!

Keep Mike & Becka in your prayers, she is going through morning sickness but seems to be improving and Mike is a huge support to her. We are so thankful to the Lord that He has enriched Becka & our family with Mike, a true man of God and a blessing to us all.

Ps 103:17
But from everlasting to everlasting
the Lord’s love is with those who fear him,
and his righteousness with their children's children —

Stand by Me

Things are going great here in the Philippines. Our two pre-schools just had their graduation ceremonies. That’s me above with a few of the students from Punta Biao. I’m still living and serving here in Digos. I preach once a month in a humble church down the street called “Good News Baptist Church”. I really like it. Everyone there has been super patient and supportive. I say patient because although I feel I have the gift of preaching, I don’t have a lot of experience, so I am still growing and have a long way to go. But in spite of this the congregation is willing to let me hone my skills there, and for that I am really grateful. Also, there is a team coming to serve here for a week in May that we’ll be hosting at the orphanage.

This summer we have three “Sower Teams” going to China. I leave here May 10 to meet the first one in Beijing. These teams are always a highlight of my year and a great source of increase for my faith. Every trip I’ve taken to China has been life changing, and I know that this year will be no exception. I haven’t been back there since we took the team from Colorado to the Olympics so I am looking forward to seeing Wendy, David, Jing Jing, and the twins again.

Some prayer requests:· My preaching (that the Holy Spirit would move in and through me)
· My China visa (I’ll be applying for a three year, multiple entry in June)
· My teams (for favor, boldness, wisdom, and divine appointments)

Thank you all so much for continuing to support me. Every time I get to this part of the letter I desperately rummage through every nook of my intellect in hopes of finding the perfect combination of words that would justly convey the sense of gratitude I have for you, my supporters, and still the right words elude me. But be sure and know that I pray for you daily, that the Lord may release every blessing He has for you, and replenish to the point of abundance all that you give for His cause.
